On March 28, 2008, clergy, friends and members of the CEEC from across Europe gathered on the Ise of Capri, Italy for the consecration of Fr. Tony Palmer as a bishop. With a new diocese entitled "Diocese of the Ark Community and greater Europe," Bishop Palmer and his wife Emi begin a new phase of ministry with significant ecumenical implications. Already serving as canon to the Office of Ecumenical Affairs,

Bishop Palmer has developed significant relationships throughout the Roman Catholic Church in South America, Italy and England.

During the Consecration Service, letters of testimony were read that included a recommendation from a Cardinal in the Roman Church. A special delegation came from the Catholic Fraternity with millions of members across the world. The service was led by Archbishop Robert L. Wise with Bishop Gerard O'Flaherty from England presiding. A special letter of commendation came from the International House of Bishops, present in absentia. Presiding Bishop Durasingh James attempted to arrive but had passport problems that kept him out of Italy.

Following the service, a great celebration was held saluting and honoring our newest bishops. Please pray with us as this new ministry continues in Europe.
